Game 160 Recap: Nationals 6, Braves 3
Derek Lowe pretty much laid an egg in this game. For going down the stretch like such a lion, the Braves seem to be intent on closing out this season like a lamb. I tied one on at Le Flash last night, so I was not one of the dozens of people who watched this game.
There's not too much to say about this game, read here if you want a recap. Martin Prado had four hits, and David Ross had a big hit that put the Braves in front for a half inning. The middle of the Braves lineup was totally lost at the plate. The bullpen put in some good work.

I'm not even watching much of these games
Just too hard after seeing how good we can be.
Oh well, at least college hoops starts in a month or so and my Colts are 3-0.

Very disappointing end to the year.
Last night’s game was unbelievable, Lowe pooped out again and of course so did most of the offence. The kicker was the defence throwing the ball away.“He’s a good pitcher,” Cox said. “He just gets off every once in a while.” That’s an understatement. If the Braves’ roster is still pretty much the same next year with Bobby managing I don’t see much hope that 2010 will be much different. I wish they would get rid of Pendleton at the least and get someone in here who can coach every player, not just some players. This team has not been able to hit good pitching all year, period! I blame the hitting coach for that, because that’s his job, period! If the good hitters are his fault then so are the poor ones too. I’ve had a bad year and so have the Braves.
Senator, we have another old saying,"Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining." Fletcher
Yet another loss to a pitcher we should handle.
While Lowe struggled, Livan Hernandez, who had gone 1-7 with a 6.99 ERA in his previous 10 starts, had little trouble continuing to subdue a Braves offense that had hit just .197 during the previous four games on this homestand. Two of the three runs surrendered by the Nationals right-hander over 6 1/3 innings came via the two-run second-inning double he surrendered to David Ross.
It sure would be nice if the Braves could muster up enough gumption to give the fans in ATLANTA a chance to see them WIN another ballgame this year at home.
To me this is the appropriate ending to this year. I’m not saying it’s what we want to see or should see, but it’s appropriate for this year. The Braves have been streaky all year long. They win a bunch, they lose a bunch… So in keeping with that tradition, they are on the downswing as we finish out the season.
As far as Lowe goes. He’s my least favorite starter. I never feel comfortable with him taking the mound. A similar feeling for me when Hudson is on the mound, but that is mainly a result of the injury and being unsure of what he’s got. Everyone knows what Lowe’s got and it’s not nearly enough.
Aha
Gondeeeeeeee, I probably drove right by you on Peters Street making my way home from the game. Thanks for finally giving me a clue as to what I stumbled upon (yeah, I’m a little out of touch with the art community at the moment and hating it)! Really awesome work displayed; was wishing I had someone with me to stop & check it out. Did you know any of the artists?
