Coming off of a loss in Tuesday’s series opener, the Atlanta Braves will try to get back on track Wednesday when they continue a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies. The Braves fell 5-4 Tuesday behind another shaky outing from Touki Toussaint. Despite the loss, Atlanta reduced its magic number to clinch the NL East division to 15 thanks to a Phillies loss at home to the Cubs.
Huascar Ynoa will be on the mound for the Braves and is coming off of a good start in his last outing against Washington. Ynoa allowed three hits, two runs and struck out seven over five innings against the Nationals. He faced the Rockies during Atlanta’s most recent road trip and allowed five hits and four runs over 5 2/3 innings.
The Rockies will counter with right-hander Antonio Senzatela who matched up against Ynoa in Colorado on September 3. In that start he allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings on just 83 pitches. He allowed four hits and two runs over six innings in his last start against the Phillies.
Adam Duvall cut the deficit to 5-4 Tuesday with an eighth inning, two-run home run which was his 35th of the season. The blast extended his career-best hitting streak to 11 games. He is just three home runs behind Fernando Tatis Jr. for the NL lead and his 101 RBI lead the National League and are two short of his career high which he set back in 2016 with the Reds.
Jorge Soler is also riding a career-high 11-game hitting streak and is hitting .278/.360/.530 since joining the Braves. Dansby Swanson snapped an 0-for-12 with a double in Tuesday’s game.
Wednesday’s game is scheduled to get underway at 7:20 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports South.
