The Braves entered their two-game series against the Yankees as one of the hottest teams in baseball. Losing both games was unfortunate, but the club was very competitive and certainly looked the part of a legitimate contender. Now, with just over a month remaining in the season, Atlanta continues their run of games against tough opponents. This weekend, the Braves will host the Giants, then head to Los Angeles and Colorado. Playing these teams will pose challenges for Atlanta, but should also give them a better idea of where they stand among the elite teams in the National League.
Luckily, the Braves are getting healthy as this stretch begins. They added Huascar Ynoa from the IL already, and should be adding Ian Anderson and Eddie Rosario very soon as well. The additional depth both in the outfield and rotation should bode well, and potentially set Atlanta up for a strong run in September. Can the Braves parlay their added depth into a fourth consecutive NL East crown, despite the gauntlet they will face over the next few weeks?

Even a subpar effort from the Giants was enough to best the Mets on Wednesday. Tough scene for Cohen and Co.
