As expected, the Atlanta Braves have reinstated Huascar Ynoa from the 60-day injured list and he will start Tuesday’s game against the Marlins in Miami. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta optioned reliever Jacob Webb to Gwinnett.
The #Braves today returned RHP Huascar Ynoa from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the 60-day injured list after optioning RHP Jacob Webb to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) August 17, 2021
Ynoa provided the Braves a lift in the rotation early while posting a 3.02 ERA and a 3.79 FIP in 44 2/3 innings. He made eight starts and one relief appearance before suffering a broken hand after he punched the dugout in frustration following a tough outing against the Brewers. He was placed on the injured list May 17. Ynoa made three rehab starts between Rome and Gwinnett and the reports were that he was throwing the ball well.
Webb was recalled last Friday to add a fresh arm to the bullpen after Kyle Muller was optioned to Gwinnett. He made two appearances during this stint on the active roster retiring all six hitters he faced to go along with three strikeouts.
