After a bit of an experiment to start the second half of the season, it seems manager Brian Snitker has decided to go with what likely is the best top of the order setup the Braves can muster after the loss of Ronald Acuna Jr.

While the Braves had hope Dansby Swanson could produce from the second spot in the lineup, the results simply were not encouraging and the Braves have little room for error to experiment. Ozzie Albies batting between Pederson and Freeman not only gives more plate appearances to the Braves most talented bats, it also makes it harder for opposing managers to come up with strategies against the top of the lineup. With Matt Moore on the mound tonight, the hope is the Atlanta offense can get off to a hot start to support Charlie Morton.

A positive development for Atlanta is that J.T. Realmuto is not starting tonight. However, the Phillies are sending out a lineup that has produced well against Morton this year. A big key for Morton is not allowing Jean Segura or Travis Jankowski to get off to produce in front of Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins. If Morton can keep his control and work his arsenal effectively, he can give the Braves the quality start they need to be in position to win the game.
