The hits just keep coming for the Atlanta Braves. Ian Anderson struggled again Sunday and could be headed to the injured list. Brian Snitker confirmed following that game that Anderson will have his shoulder checked out during the All-Star break and will likely be placed on the injured list.
Anderson allowed six hits, five walks and four runs in just 2 1/3 innings Sunday. He has now walked eight batters in his last 7 1/3 innings. Anderson admitted that he has been dealing with some soreness but thinks it is just inflammation and general wear and tear over a long and normal season.
Anderson through 32 1/3 innings for the Braves last season and then another 18 2/3 during the postseason. He has already made 18 starts and has logged 96 innings this season. His career-high in innings came in 2019 when he logged 135 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A.
