Gabriel Burns of the AJC wrote on Tuesday that right-hander Mike Soroka was progressing after undergoing surgery on his Achilles. Soroka still does not have an expected return date, but naturally the Braves must be encouraged by the incremental progress made by the 23-year-old. Returning this season seems a bit far-fetched (especially to Brian Snitker), but Atlanta will hope to see Soroka on the mound as quickly as possible.
Ronald Acuna blasted his 18th home run of the season on Tuesday, with the majestic blast leaving the bat at 116 MPH. The Braves battled back from a late deficit to win this one handily.
William Contreras and Austin Riley also homered, with the latter tying the game in the eighth inning before a continued eruption gave Atlanta a four-run lead.
After impressing in both of his starts at the major league level this season, Tucker Davidson has earned another start and will look to establish himself in the rotation going forward.
How does this happen?
Not bad for a pitcher.
The highest-paid pitcher in baseball really struggled when asked about foreign substances.
