The only change to the Braves lineup from last night will be Kevan Smith getting another start behind the plate with Atlanta’s hopes he can finally produce against a left-hander.
Guillermo Heredia will get another start in center field and bat sixth in the lineup. For the month of June, Heredia has the Braves highest OPS outside of their three candidates to start for the NL in the All-Star Game. Heredia is on pace to have one of the more productive seasons by a Braves center fielder in several years. His bat has certainly been a needed development in the bottom of the order.
In the hopes of having platoon splits work in their favor, the Mets are starting Billy McKinney and Jose Peraza in place of Jeff McNeil and Dominic Smith. The Mets are hoping to take advantage of Max Fried’s time off and his struggles early in games. If Fried can work through the top of the order in the first inning without issue, it should be a big boost to his overall chances for success.
