Dansby Swanson homered while Tucker Davidson turned in another good performance to help the Atlanta Braves to a 5-1 win over the Washington Nationals. The Braves snap a two-game losing skid, improve to 26-28 on the season and salvage a split in their four-game series with Washington.
Swanson’s homer was the 500th hit of his career and extended his hitting streak to a career-best 12-straight games. Ozzie Albies finished with three hits including a seventh inning double that was also the 500th hit of his career. So both of the Braves’ middle infielders reached a cool milestone in Thursday’s win.
Davidson allowed just one hit and pitched around five walks in 5 2/3 scoreless innings. He was in complete control throughout and continues to impress.
The Braves will continue their homestand Friday when they will begin a three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ian Anderson will get the start for Atlanta while the Dodgers will go with lefty Julio Urias.
