The Atlanta Braves will be without left-hander Max Fried for at least one start after he was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a blister on his left index finger. The move was made retroactive to June 19. Atlanta recalled right-hander Kyle Wright to take Fried’s place on the roster.
The #Braves today recalled RHP Kyle Wright to Atlanta and placed LHP Max Fried on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 19, with a blister on his left index finger.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) June 22, 2021
After a rough start to the season, Fried has been Atlanta’s most consistent starter. Since returning from the injured list on May 5, Fried has allowed three runs or less in seven of eight starts. He was penciled in to start Wednesday’s series finale which will presumedly go to Kyle Wright.
Wright has made just one appearance for Atlanta this season where he allowed three hits, two walks and two runs in just 4 1/3 innings. His season at Gwinnett has been a mixed bag as well where he has a 3.76 ERA and a 4.13 FIP in 38 1/3 innings across eight starts.
