The Atlanta Braves will begin a big road trip Monday afternoon with a doubleheader against the New York Mets. Atlanta enters play Monday five games behind the Mets in the NL East standings. Brian Snitker announced this afternoon that Kyle Muller, who was added as the 27th man for the doubleheader, will get the start in Game 1 against arguably the best pitcher in the game Jacob deGrom. Ian Anderson will get the start in the second game.
The Braves will roll out their normal lineup for the opener with the exception of Kevan Smith who will be behind the plate and hit eighth.

The Mets are slowly but surely starting to get healthy. Manager Luis Rojas confirmed Monday that Jeff McNeil will be active in both games. He will come off the bench in Game 1 and will start the second game. Dominic Smith will be in left field and hitting third and will be followed by Pete Alonso who will play first and hit cleanup. Kevin Pillar gets the start in right field in the series opener. Tomas Nido will catch deGrom and hit eighth.
