The Atlanta Braves announced Wednesday that they had reinstated outfielder Cristian Pache form the injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett. The moves is merely procedural and Pache will look to get back on track at the plate while working in a less stressful environment at Gwinnett.
The #Braves today returned OF Cristian Pache from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from the 10-day injured list, and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) June 2, 2021
Pache began the season as the Braves Opening Day centerfielder and while his defense was as advertised, he struggled at the plate hitting .111/.152/.206 with a 36.8% strikeout rate in 68 plate appearances.
Pache went 1-for-3 at Gwinnett Tuesday night. His rehab assignment was originally slated to begin over the weekend but he experienced some lingering soreness in his hamstring and groin so the team elected to give him a couple of more days of rest. This was Pache’s second stint on the injured list. A strained groin sidelined him back on April 13. He later returned and then suffered a strained hamstring on May 13.
