Run prevention has been a tall task of late for Atlanta.

The Atlanta Braves will try to stop the bleeding Thursday night when they begin a four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Truist Park. Charlie Morton will get the start for Atlanta while St. Louis will go with right-hander John Gant.

Brian Snitker and the Braves will deploy an identical lineup to the one used Wednesday, aside from the return of William Contreras in the seventh spot. Abraham Almonte is back in there at cleanup while Guillermo Heredia gets another start in center and will be hitting eighth.

For the Cardinals, Tommy Edman is back in Mike Shildt’s lineup and will be leading off and playing right field. Edman was a late scratch in Tuesday’s game due to soreness in his abdomen.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports Southeast.
