The injury seesaw bounced back in the Braves favor today. Per the Braves:
The #Braves today reinstated LHP Max Fried from the 10-day IL and he is scheduled to start tonight’s game. The club optioned LHP Sean Newcomb to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game.

The Braves bring back Max Fried for his start tonight versus the Nationals in Washington. Sean Newcomb goes to Gwinnett, but not to the alternate site. No, he will step onto the Gwinnett shuttle which will take a slight detour to join the Stripers in Charlotte. Minor League baseball (and the shuttle) is back, y’all! Sean Newcomb was back with the team for a week after a Injured List stint that ended on April 30th. He has been decent out of the bullpen, but one poor appearance in Dunedin versus the Blue Jays (2 runs, 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 outs) was enough to make him the odd man out.
Max Fried is back from a short stint to recover from a strained right hamstring from April 14th. He looks to shrink his bloated 6.57/6.29/4.21 line from 11 innings this year. He looks to regain 2020 pace versus the Nationals tonight. His xFIP is practically unchanged since 2020, so if he can protect against the home run, he should deliver a nice start tonight.
