The Braves certainly have some moving parts to their roster right now with a bullpen seemingly in need of a rework and a bench in need of, well, more players on it. They have also had to deal with more than their fair share of adversity with injuries, both minor and major, on both sides of the ball as well as guys underperforming expectations.
However, one of the best storylines had to be when the Braves brought Sean Kazmar up to the majors a couple weeks ago. While he didn’t get much in the way of playing time, the Gwinnett legend grinded in the minors for many years (12 to be more precise) in the hopes of another shot at the major leagues and to say that a lot of us were excited that he got it this season is an understatement.
Now, it looks like it is getting another shot.
The #Braves today recalled INF Sean Kazmar Jr. to Atlanta.

This is move is presumably one of the reasons why Gwinnett has been so slow to release their roster in anticipation of minor league Opening Day today. The Braves did send Nate Jones down to the alternate site yesterday, but Chris Martin should also be returning soon so it will be interesting to see if this is the only move today.
Beyond, this move gives the Braves another bat off the bench and, as a long-time admirer of Kaz’s grind, I couldn’t be happier that he gets an opportunity.
