Rain could once again be an issue for the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets Sunday night, but weather permitting, they will wrap up a brief two-game series on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. Max Fried will be on the mound for Atlanta while reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom will get the start for New York.
Ender Inciarte returns to the lineup for the Braves hitting eighth. Guillermo Heredia will slide over from center to left and will hit sixth in the lineup. William Contreras gets another start behind the plate and will hit seventh. Ehire Adrianza started in left Saturday night but will return to the bench for this one.
The Mets have not yet released their lineup yet, but if they are able to play Sunday, it appears that they will have a key piece of their lineup back. ESPN’s Buster Olney reports that Pete Alonso will be activated for the Mets’ next game whether that is tonight or tomorrow.
