If you have been living under a rock for the last month or so, Ronald Acuna Jr. has been on quite the tear for the Atlanta Braves professional baseball club. He comfortably leads the National League in fWAR with 2.1 and is at or near the top of the league in home runs, wRC+, batting average, runs scored, OPS....basically, most offensively categories feature his name prominently. It is even more wild to consider that when you also consider that he had to miss a couple games with a minor abdominal strain.
Well, the league took notice and the National League player of the month award went to...

Obviously Ronnie is a very worthy winner here as he was the class of the National League offensively in April. Other guys had a good April as well with Kris Bryant, Nick Castellanos, and Trea Turner playing well...but Acuna Jr. was basically in his own tier and was a pretty obvious choice.
On a related note, if Ronnie keeps anything close to this pace up during the season, he not only could win a few more of these player of the month awards, but he would also be a pretty heavy favorite for NL MVP by the end of the year.
