As expected, the Atlanta Braves recalled right-hander Bryse Wilson from Gwinnett and he will start Saturday evening’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta optioned reliever Jacob Webb to Gwinnett.
The #Braves today recalled RHP Bryse Wilson to Atlanta after optioning RHP Jacob Webb to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game.

Wilson has struggled in four starts with the Braves this season allowing 24 hits and 11 runs in 18 innings. He has allowed five homers and has saw his K-rate plummet to just 13.9%.
Webb had a rough week as he was visibly shaken after he hit Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar in the face with a fastball in Monday’s game. He retired just one batter while allowing three hits and one earned run in Thursday’s loss to the Pirates. He closed out Friday’s win in the ninth allowing two hits, a walk and an unearned run. It is pretty clear that Webb would likely benefit by having a chance to reset after this week.
First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports Southeast.
