The Braves will face the Pirates in the third game of the four game series. The Pirates will send out Mitch Keller to the mound, and he has been...bad this season, with a 7.16 ERA over 8 starts, although with peripheral stats that are more “not what you want” than “wow this guy is terrible”. They say that momentum is only as good as tomorrow’s starting pitcher and regardless of his less-than-terrible peripheral stats, Keller should be a soft target for Atlanta’s offense to continue rolling after a 20 run explosion on Friday.
Brian Snitker confirmed after Friday’s game that Bryse Wilson will be recalled to make Saturday’s start. Wilson has struggled in four starts at the major league level this season allowing 24 hits and 11 earned runs in 18 innings. He has also made two starts at Gwinnett where he has allowed 14 hits and four runs in 11 innings. Wilson made his Major League debut against the Pirates back in 2018 where he fired five scoreless innings.
First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports Southeast
