The Atlanta Braves made a roster move in advance of Thursday’s series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The club reinstated outfielder Ender Inciarte from the paternity list and optioned infielder Johan Camargo back to Gwinnett.

Inciarte was placed on the paternity list Monday and missed all of the Mets series. He is hitting .292/.346/.333 in limited playing time in 2021. Camargo has spent most of the season shuttling back and forth between Atlanta and Gwinnett. He hasn’t appeared in a game at the major league level since May 13 and is 0-for-13 on the season in 11 games. Camargo is hitting .346/.528/.731 in 36 plate appearances at Gwinnett.

The Braves also announced that veteran catcher Jeff Mathis cleared waivers and had been outrighted to Gwinnett. Mathis was designated for assignment on Wednesday to make room for Kevan Smith on the active roster. Mathis appeared in three games with Atlanta while going 0-for-9 at the plate.
