The now confirmed cursed season continues as Ynoa will head to the IL.

Mark Bowman has announced some rather devastating news as Huascar Ynoa will head to the IL after breaking his right hand following yesterday’s loss to the Brewers. Yes, you read that right - he broke his hand following the game.

Huascar, discouraged following surrendering five runs over 4.1, in a tough Braves loss, will now head to the DL and place the Braves in a rather precarious position as they try to replace his production. On the season Ynoa has made eight starts to the tune of a 3.02 ERA, 10.1 K/9, while allowing 2.2 walks per nine - the best of his career. He also made rounds around the internet following his own grand slam while hitting an incredible impressive .353/.353/.765.

To try and make up for his loss the Braves have announced that they have called up Tucker Davidson who will make the start tomorrow.

Tucker last pitched on the 12th and was wonderful going seven innings while giving up just four hits and striking out eight while walking just one. On the season, Tucker has made two starts and has shown improved command with a 1.9 BB/9 rate.

The Braves have also announced that they have recalled RHP Edgar Santana from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Edgar Santana was a key member of the 2018 Pirates bullpen before having to get Tommy John Surgery, and then was suspended for 80 games in 2020 after testing positive for Boldenone. With Edgar, the Braves have an intriguing relief arm with lots of movement on all of his pitches but has struggled a bit with his command after a lengthy layoff.

It is unclear how long Huascar will be out but the impact will be significant given his performance to start the season. Hopefully, Tucker can carry the momentum from his first two starts of the season and fill in for Ynoa while Edgar provides a high leverage arm in the bullpen.
