The Atlanta Braves added another outfielder to the mix Saturday by activating Guillermo Heredia from the 10-day injured list. Heredia last played on April 29 before going on the injured list due to a strained hamstring. Atlanta optioned infielder Johan Camargo to Gwinnett to make room for Heredia.

The Braves’ outfield was hit hard by injury earlier this week when Ronald Acuña Jr. and Cristian Pache both suffered injuries. Pache was placed on the injured list with a strained hamstring. Acuña suffered an ankle injury but has so far avoided being placed on the IL. He sat out Friday’s win in Milwaukee and Brian Snitker said that he could possibly return on Saturday.

Heredia was pressed into action earlier this season thanks to injuries to Pache and Ender Inciarte. He was a pleasant surprise hitting .300/.429/.575 with two homers in 13 games. He was 1-for-3 during his brief rehab assignment with Gwinnett.

Ehire Adrianza started Friday’s game in place of Acuña in right field. Having Heredia back gives Snitker another outfield option.
