The Braves have another injury to an outfielder. In today’s series finale versus the Blue Jays, Cristian Pache was removed from the game after running the bases.

Atlanta’s top prospect from 2019 and 2020 was replaced from today’s game. Austin Riley is hitting in Pache’s number eight spot while Ehire Adrianza moved to right field, with Ronald Acuña miving to center. Pache was previously injured last month with a strained left groin. The injury doesn’t appear to be very serious, but the Braves are taking no chances after the previous strain.
There is also this from Mark Bowman:
When I asked about whether Heredia is ready and if Pache might be optioned last night, Snit said Heredia was a couple days away. He didn't answer the second part of the question.— Mark Bowman (@mlbbowman) May 13, 2021
Uhh, yeah. With Ehire Adrianza sporting an OPS of .844, and Guillermo Heredia, with his recent good work (1.004 OPS in 40 PAs) ready to come back off from the disabled list, talk to Pache returning to Gwinnett is starting to emerge. It is possible that Cristian Pache was never really ready to go this season, physically or developmentally. Whatever the cause or the fallout, Talking Chop will update as more information is available.
