The Braves are hoping the third time will truly be the charm for their Opening Day lineup.

With the Braves and Phillies getting an early start today, both lineups emerged this morning with little surprises. The Braves, with a desire to get their first win, are sticking with their same lineup. On the other hand, the Phillies have decided to give J.T. Realmuto an early season rest day with a series win already secured.

The big key for the Braves today is to get production from Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman, and Marcell Ozuna. They are a combined 1-25 with a walk and a single to start the season. Yes, Ozuna was robbed of a game-tying double on Thursday, but the Braves need production from this trio to avoid the sweep.

Though the Phillies’ offense has not exactly been on fire itself to start the season, they have done more than enough to get key hits with runners on base. Even with Realmuto out of the lineup, Ian Anderson will need to be highly cautious with the top of the lineup. Though it is early in the season, the Braves starters have logged just one more inning than the bullpen over the first two games. While Atlanta would certainly be pleased with six or more innings from Anderson, manager Brian Snitker will also be weary to limit early struggles from Anderson if the Braves offense continues to struggle itself.
