The Braves look to take control of their series against one of the best road teams in the majors.

If yesterday was any indication, today could be another wild day when it comes to the MLB Playoffs.

While the Red Sox gained a 2-1 lead in their series against the Rays, the White Sox stayed alive to force a Game 4 against the Astros.

As attention turns back to the National League today, the Braves goal is simply to take advantage of the home field. With Games 3 and 4 at Truist Park, Atlanta has a golden opportunity to take control of this series. However, it will not be easy. The Brewers are second in the majors in wins on the road this season after the Giants, and arguably are the best road pitching team in the Majors.

The key for the Braves is to simply play to their potential on offense. A big improvement and area of development for the Braves will simply be the bottom half of the order producing. In Games 1 and 2, the 5th through 9th spots in the lineup produced three total hits. For the Braves to win this series, they will need to have a complete effort from the entire lineup.

  • Ian Anderson gains confidence for his start today from his playoff resume. Though this was considered Anderson’s rookie season technically, he had multiple starts in the playoffs last year where he delivered great performances.
  • A year ago, Ron Washington was a clear consideration for the Padres in their managerial search. A year later, with Jayce Tingler being removed from the position, Washington is expected to considered for the job once again.
