Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame third baseman Chipper Jones is one of three new Vice Presidents announced by the MLB Players Alumni Association. Jones will be joined by both Edgar Martinez and Barry Larkin. They will be joining existing VP’s Bob Boone, George Brett, Carl Eskine and Robin Yount.

The MLBPAA isn’t to be confused with the MLBPA which is the Players’ Association. The Alumni Association’s stated goal is to help promote the game of baseball and to inspire and educate youth through positive sports images.

Since retiring, Jones has kept a reasonably high profile. He was part of ESPN’s MLB broadcast team in 2020 and remains active on social media. This sounds like something that is worth the Hall of Famer’s time.
