The MLBPAA isn’t to be confused with the MLBPA which is the Players’ Association. The Alumni Association’s stated goal is to help promote the game of baseball and to inspire and educate youth through positive sports images.
Since retiring, Jones has kept a reasonably high profile. He was part of ESPN’s MLB broadcast team in 2020 and remains active on social media. This sounds like something that is worth the Hall of Famer’s time.
