Hey! What’s going on?

So, let’s see what’s going on around baseball tonight.

Darren O’Day’s new contract with the Yankees is unnecessarily complicated for how little total cash is at stake. Yeah, yeah, luxury tax math and all, but still.

The Giants are apparently “talking to” Joc Pederson (“Hey Joc, who’s your favorite ninja turtle?”). That gives them another outfelder they’ve been linked to, beyond Eddie Rosario and Jackie Bradley, Jr. The Giants also have a bunch of interesting outfield options as it is, including old-breakout-guy Mike “The Consonants Kid” Yastrzemski and Alex “Not Corey” Dickerson. Yesterday, the Giants signed Tommy La Stella to a three-year deal, though I still haven’t seen a dollar amount on that particular contract.

There’s still around 80 forecasted WAR up for grabs on the free agent market (though much of it is very marginal). How much will the Braves add, in the end?
