The Atlanta Braves kept mashing Sunday with a 10-4 win over the Washington Nationals to secure a split in a four-game series. They will look to keep it going on Monday when they open up a three-game series against the Miami Marlins at Truist Park. Monday’s Labor Day matinee will be the first of four September games on YouTube.
For the Braves, Ian Anderson will look to continue his great start to the season against the Marlins. Anderson limited the Red Sox to six hits and two runs over six innings. He struck out eight and walked just one. Monday’s game will be his first game against a National League opponent after debuting against the Yankees and then pitching at Fenway against Boston.
The Miami Marlins will counter with right-hander Jose Urena who will be activated from the injured list for Monday’s start. Urena was one of the many Marlins players to test positive for COVID-19 in late July. He has been working out at the team’s alternate site since August 15. Urena will be making his first appearance of the 2020 season and will be taking the place of Elieser Hernandez in the rotation. Hernandez suffered a season-ending lat injury earlier this week.
The Braves come into Monday’s matchup on an offensive tear having scored six runs or more in seven of their last eight games.
