There is just nine games remaining in the 2020 regular season and the Atlanta Braves are trying to nail down their third straight division title. Per our SB Nation Reacts survey, fan confidence in the Braves rebounded this week jumping from 61% to 73%. If you are wondering where fan confidence is at for the rest of the division, the Miami Marlins have a lot to be happy about and fan confidence is at 94% which is tops in the division. The Mets check in at 51% while the Nationals are at 44%. The Phillies are once again suffering through a September swoon and fan confidence has cratered to 0%. You have to love that.
The Braves have been forced to piece together a starting rotation since early on in the regular season. They have featured a red hot offense and a stellar bullpen and that has 60% of our Reacts voters thinking the Braves are a championship contender. Anything can happen in the playoffs but it certainly feels like Atlanta’s chances took a hit when the postseason schedule announcement revealed that there would be no off days.
Our first national question this week asked which surprise team is the biggest postseason threat. The Padres were the overwhelming choice but don’t sleep on the Chicago White Sox who clinched a playoff spot earlier this week.
Our last question focused on whether a 7-inning no-hitter should count in the record books. Sixty-four percent of our voters said no. Come on guys, a no-hitter is a no-hitter and if the game is just scheduled for 7-innings, then it shouldn’t matter.
