The Braves have announced the return of starting pitcher Max Fried off of the injured list and back to the big league team.
Absolutely massive news as the Braves are entering the final stretch of the regular season with a slim 2.5 game lead in the division. They will need big contributions from the starting staff if they look to make any kind of impact so the arrival of Max Fried is extremely welcoming news.
Max is having an absolutely superb year with a 1.98 ERA, 2.51 FIP, while going 6-0 and accumulating 1.8 fWAR which is 13th amongst pitchers in baseball. This coming after a Cole Hamels start which flashed good control of all three pitches early on, along with strong performances from Ian Anderson, and a solid start by Kyle Wright gives Braves fans, as well as the team, some good news for the rotation.
To make room for Max the Braves have optioned Bryse Wilson to the alternate site. Bryse pitched on the 14th, but provided necessary innings in the Braves 29-run drubbing of the Marlins - pitching four and giving up one run and saving innings from the rest of the bullpen.
