The Atlanta Braves have announced a 56-man player pool for the start of Summer Camp which opens on July 1. Atlanta has four open spots which could be filled at a later date.
The list includes 17 players that are currently not on the 40-man roster including prospects Kyle Muller, Ian Anderson, Shea Langeliers and Drew Waters. The group also includes veterans Felix Hernandez, Yonder Alonso, Peter O’Brien and Charlie Culberson.
Also included in the group is 2020 first round pick Jared Shuster. The one notable player missing from the list is outfielder Trey Harris who put together a great 2019 season.
The Braves will open with a 30-man roster which will be paired down to 28 and then to 26 at certain points during the season. The remaining players will work out, presumedly at Gwinnett, and be ready if needed. The team can also carry up to a three-man taxi squad of reserve players on road trips although one must be a catcher.
