Baseball is back! The MLBPA informed MLB on Tuesday that players will report to a second spring training on July 1 and reached an agreement on health and safety protocols.
There are still a ton of unanswered questions in regards to what the 2020 season will look like but we can expect to have a DH in the National League and perhaps some other rule changes as well. One report suggests that teams must submit a list of up to 60 players (entire 40-man roster plus taxi squad) that will be eligible to play during the season. We still don’t know what the roster rules will be implemented though but those will likely be available soon.
With a deal now in place, the league’s attention must turn towards the pandemic once again as the virus count continues to rise. Four more members of the Phillies organization tested positive on Tuesday. Also, Major League Baseball still has not submitted a required plan to local health officials in Toronto before the Blue Jays will be allowed to play in Toronto.
