Major League Baseball announced on Tuesday that the league-wide initiative of financial support for Minor League players has been extended through May 31st or until the beginning of the minor league season, whichever occurs first.

As Baseball America’s J.J. Cooper points out, each player will receive $400 a week through May 31. That number will be a hit for some veteran minor league players but will be a pay raise for a lot of 1st or 2nd year players.
