After winning back-to-back NL East titles, the #Braves have more help on the way, as 4 of their top 5 prospects have a chance to "knock on, and kick in" the #MLB door this year.— MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) March 3, 2020
Here's the @Braves' brand-new 2020 Top 30 Prospects list: https://t.co/JdqgT7jVPB pic.twitter.com/wXxt754EPk
The Braves members of the top 100 are here:
Cristian Pache (overall MLB #13)
Drew Waters (overall MLB #26)
Ian Anderson (overall MLB #37)
Kyle Wright (overall MLB #52)
Shea Langerliers (overall MLB #70)
Bryse Wilson, Braden Shewmake, Kyle Muller, William Contreras, and Tucker Davidson round out the top ten. MLB Pipeline is big on Kyle Wright and his amazing, incredible, hot fastball. Trey Harris’s great work has not gone unnoticed, and he checks in at #15.
Here are the players whose ranks changed the most from the 2019 preseason list to the 2020 preseason list:
Jump: Trey Harris (2019: NR | 2020: 16) — All this 32nd-round senior sign afterthought did was hit his way to Double-A in his first full season, finishing with a .323/.289/498 line before continuing to rake in the Arizona Fall League.
Of note, MLB has Shea Langeliers above William Contreras. Freddy Tarnok is at #13. They might be sleeping on Patrick Weigel at #16. Bryce Ball is at #19.
Eight of the top 11 have an arrival timeline of 2020. If we were disappointed at what the front office procured over the offseason, maybe we should wait a few months to let the kids arrive.
