The Chicago White Sox have been the busiest team at the Winter Meetings. Late Monday night they acquired right-hander Lance Lynn from the Texas Rangers in exchange for right-handed prospect Dane Dunning and left-hander Avery Weems. Many around the league thought that Texas made a mistake by not trading Lynn at the 2020 deadline. A report by The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal sheds some light on why he wasn’t moved. Per Rosenthal, Lynn and his agent informed the Rangers that he would opt out of the season if he was sent to a team that he did not wish to join giving him a de facto no-trade clause.
The White Sox also reportedly inked veteran outfielder Adam Eaton to a one-year, $7 million deal Tuesday that also includes an $8.5 million option for the 2022 season.

Despite those good numbers, he was non-tendered by the Twins last Wednesday mostly due to suspect peripherals.
