So, let’s see what’s going on around baseball these days.
The Giants shelled out $6 million for Anthony DeSclafani, who had a dreadful handful of games in 2020 but was an average-to-slightly-above starter over the prior four seasons. The Rays gave Michael Wacha half that, who is much further removed from effectiveness, but had a neat xFIP in 2020.
Not too much action today aside from that, and heading into the holiday season suggests a slowdown on top of the current fairly cold stove as it is, but we’ll see. Sometimes miracles do happen.
