It’s been a slow year for minor league baseball, but this past week was a big one as the Braves selected three players in the Rule 5 draft and changed affiliates.

Road to Atlanta is our weekly podcast where we discuss all things minor leagues and prospects for our beloved Atlanta Braves. We have relaunched the podcast and it can be found in the same stream with the Talking Chop podcast, so if you subscribe to have easy access to R2A as well. Episodes will go live (most of the time) every Thursday evening and will cover a wide range of topics including top performances from the previous week, deep dives into specific prospects or topics, and lots of sweet guests.

The band is back together again with a new Road To Atlanta podcast fresh off of a big news week. The first order of business was the contraction and reorganization of minor league baseball, which saw the Braves affected directly. While there wasn’t a wholesale shift, the Braves added the local team Augusta GreenJackets as one of their affiliates and shifted Rome up to High-A. We gave our thoughts on how this might affect minor league baseball going forward and how it can help and hurt players and fans. We also took a dive into the Rule 5 draft where the Braves chose three talented prospects in the minor league portion. Matt carried the gauntlet with his endless stream of player information and we looked at what we liked and how we hope these guys can progress as Braves.
