A pair of Josh Donaldson homers combined with a stellar outing by Dallas Keuchel was enough for the Braves in a 2-1 win over the New York Mets. Atlanta sweeps the series and extends its winning streak to eight straight games.
Dansby Swanson will rejoin the Braves on Monday in Colorado but the team hasn’t determined yet whether or not he will be activated in time for Monday’s game against the Rockies.

Anthony Rizzo left Saturday’s loss to the Nationals in the fifth inning and was out of the team’s lineup on Sunday due to back issues. The team also placed reliever Derek Holland on the 10-day injured list prior to Sunday’s game. The Cubs are off on Monday and hope that will be enough recovery time to get Rizzo back into the lineup. Chicago was swept at home by the Nationals are are now two games back of the Cardinals in the NL Central standings.
Mets closer Edwin Diaz left Saturday’s loss to the Mets in the ninth inning with tightness in his right trapezius muscle. Manager Mickey Callaway told reporters on Sunday that Diaz was slightly improved and the hope is that he can avoid a trip to the injury list.
The Cleveland Indians were dealt a blow on Sunday when they placed infielder Jose Ramirez on the injured list with a fractured hamate bone in his right hand. Ramirez will undergo surgery on Monday and his recovery timeline will be updated then.
