The Atlanta Braves have made a roster move before tonight’s game with the New York Mets:

The Braves promoted Rafael Ortega and returned Patrick Weigel to Gwinnett.

Rafael Ortega joins Atlanta’s bench for the first time tonight! He owns a career slash line of .236/.291/.286 and -0.9 WAR in 109 MLB games. He has been hot in Gwinnett, however, with a .285/.373/.524 line and 126 wRC+.

Mitch Hedberg was bumped from The Late Show with David Letterman once because Madonna’s appearance ran long. He told his father that he was paid $800 to eat cantaloupe. Well, the late Hedberg has nothing on Patrick Weigel. He has been promoted twice to Atlanta. He has not made an appearance and probably sat around eating sunflower seeds on a Major League salary. Maybe a third time is the charm.
