The Atlanta Braves unleashed some July 4 fireworks homering five times in a 12-6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Dansby Swanson homered twice and drove in five runs for Atlanta. Mike Soroka allowed nine hits and four runs and didn’t escape the fifth inning but the Braves’ bullpen did the job holding the Phillies to just two runs over the final 4 1/3 innings to seal the win.
Mike Soroka may not have had a good night on the mound, but Dansby Swanson and the rest of Atlanta’s offense picked him up and helped push the Braves past the Phillies
Brian McCann and Brad Miller are the new faces. Everybody else is familiar.
It’s time for some more holiday baseball. This time, Mike Soroka and the Braves will be hoping to clinch a series victory against the Phillies.
The Braves continued to shuffle players back and forth from Triple-A as they sent Bryse Wilson back to Gwinnett.
