Due Diligence?

First the Cubs paid too much for a closer on the backside of his career. But I would like for AA to please define "Due Diligence" for me. Here is what the Cubs clubhouse feels like.

"It's huge for us," staff ace Jon Lester said. "For [owner] Tom [Ricketts] and Theo [Epstein, the team's president] to get this deal done, it's a huge shot in the arm for us."

"This is big," first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. "It's a credit to [the front office] for believing in us."

So win or lose there Cubs front office at least took the leap to win NOW. I am so sick of hearing wait until next year. But this is what happens when a Company purchases a franchise and attempts to make lots of money on them. I cant wait to see AA's Due Diligence on Keuchel. I keep hearing how great the Braves starters are ands how bad the bullpen is but I'm sorry folks the Braves starting pitching is in trouble. Gaussman and Folty look lost as starters. I also continue to hear that we have enough pitching at AAA to win the pennant but 80% of the pitchers at Gwinnett have been up to the big team and have been sent back down. Until another Ted Turner or George Steinbrenner buys the team that is loaded and just loves the game we are stuck always saying "wait until next year".
