The Kimbrel reunion in Atlanta will not materialize as the right-hander signs a three-year deal with the Chicago Cubs.

On Wednesday night, the altered landscape culminated in the Cubs reaching an agreement on a three-year, $43 million contract with Kimbrel, pending the completion of a physical, sources told’s Jon Paul Morosi. The agreement was first reported by MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal, and the contract terms were first reported by MLB Network insider Jon Heyman. The Cubs have not confirmed the deal.
