The second day of the 2019 MLB Draft has gotten underway and the Atlanta Braves started their day by selecting Michael Harris, a left handed pitcher/outfielder from Stockbridge High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. The 6’0”, 190 pounder has signed with Texas Tech for his college commitment.
Harris is a promising player on both sides of the ball. As an outfielder he is an athletic switch hitter with real power potential in his game, though many think he has a brighter future on the mound.
On the mound as a lefty, Harris has a fastball that works up to 92 MPH and can reach a little higher. He has flashed a big curve that shows as a future plus pitch with development. He is going to need to work on the change up, but with a pair of promising pitches and good athleticism to potentially repeat his delivery, he should be able to throw strikes.
