Bryse Wilson is back with the big-league club. The 21-year-old right-hander was recalled from Gwinnett, while Kyle Wright was sent down in the corresponding roster move.

Wilson, who made his big-league debut last year at the ripe ol’ age of 20, broke camp with the Atlanta Braves in their 2019 Opening Day rotation. His first start of the year was a rough one, allowing four runs in 3.1 innings to the Philadelphia Phillies in a March 30 slugfest. It’s Wilson’s third time up this season, also pitching an inning of scoreless relief on April 26.
His time in Gwinnett has been a bit inconsistent, but with better results. In his last start, he fired six scoreless innings, striking out seven and walking two, while the start before that, he was tagged for five runs — coming on two home runs — in six innings. That said, he’s struck out at least six in each of his last five starts while only walking five, and has looked much more like the Wilson of old.
This was Wright’s fourth time up and down for the Braves this season. He has struggled at the big league level — and in Gwinnett — allowing 11 runs in 14 innings, striking out 11 and walking 10. He wasn’t used in his most recent trip to the big-league Braves.
