As expected, the Atlanta Braves have recalled left-hander Dallas Keuchel and announced that he will start Friday’s series opener in Washington.

Keuchel made a pair of starts in the minors after signing on for the remainder of the season. The Braves are hoping that he can give them a boost in the starting rotation while providing another veteran leader for a young pitching staff.
The Braves will begin a 10-game road trip Friday in Washington that will also take them to Chicago and New York. They currently hold a 4.5 game lead over the second place Philadelphia Phillies and a 7.5 game advantage over the Nationals in the NL East standings.
