The Atlanta Braves made a roster move before heading to Miami for the start of a three-city, 10-game road trip. The team announced that reliever Shane Carle had been optioned back to Triple-A Gwinnett. The team did not announce who would be taking Carle’s spot on the active roster.
Following today’s game, the Atlanta Braves optioned RHP Shane Carle to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Carle struggled in Thursday’s loss to the Padres allowing six hits and five runs in just one inning. He has already made one trip to Gwinnett this season and has struggled at the major league level allowing 11 hits and 10 earned runs in just 9 1/3 innings.
Jonny Venters is currently on a rehab assignment at Gwinnett where he has made four appearances and could be an option for the corresponding move. Venters was placed on the injured list back on April 15 due to a calf strain.
Also this looks like it could be a possibility as well.
Unfortunately Touki Toussaint was scratched from today’s slated start with Gwinnett.
