The Braves have made a couple of changes to the bullpen before tonight’s game with the Cardinals:
The Braves today recalled RHP Wes Parsons from Triple-A Gwinnett and returned LHP Jesse Biddle from his major league rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day IL. In order to make room on the active roster, the club designated LHP Jerry Blevins for assignment.

Wes Parsons and Jesse Biddle are back in the bullpen. Jerry Blevins is out.
Wes Parsons sports a 4.35/4.75/5.29 line (ERA/FIP/xFIP) in 12 appearances out of Atlanta’s bullpen this year with -0.1 fWAR. The righty was sent to Gwinnett on April 25 after giving up six walks in 2 2⁄3 innings over three appearances. He will be rejoined by Jesse Biddle, who has apparently completed his rehab stint for a right thigh contusion/right groin strain. Biddle has a 3.18/4.69/5.52 line in 14 appearances out of the Braves bullpen with -0.1 fWAR. He has only walked one batter in 5 2⁄3 innings at Gwinnett, so that’s improvement.
Jerry Blevins was retired five of the six lefties he faced as an Atlanta Brave, filling in a LOOGY role admirably. But his -0.2 fWAR was ultimately and apparently enough to get him designated for assignment. It’s too bad, he was starting to grow on us.
