As expected, the Atlanta Braves have activated reliever A.J. Minter from the 10-day injured list. Minter had been sidelined due to shoulder soreness since the start of spring training. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta optioned right-hander Bryse Wilson to Triple-A Gwinnett. The team also announced that right-hander Mike Foltynewicz will begin a rehab assignment at Gwinnett as well.

RHP Mike Foltynewicz will also begin a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett tonight.
Minter figures to play a huge part at the back of the Braves’ bullpen and was expected to at least split closer duties with Arodys Vizcaino.
Wilson started the second game of the season in Philadelphia and struggled allowing five hits, four runs to go along with four walks in just 3 1/3 innings. He will return to Gwinnett’s rotation and will get an opportunity again sometime down the road.
Foltynewicz was expected to be Atlanta’s Opening Day starter in 2019 but those plans went awry after he experienced soreness in his elbow after his first spring start. He will start for Gwinnett on Thursday but may need one more additional start before he is ready to rejoin the rotation.
