Acuña, Swanson homer, Fried holds Rockies in check for 7-1 win
Max Fried turned in another excellent performance on the mound while Ronald Acuña Jr. and Dansby Swanson both homered to help the Braves to a 7-1 win over the Rockies. Atlanta clinches a series win and will go for a sweep weather permitting on Wednesday.

Folty (elbow) feels good after 2nd rehab start
Mike Foltynewicz completed his second rehab start for Gwinnett on Tuesday. He threw 61 pitches over 3 2/3 innings and wrapped up his outing in the bullpen after the game was halted due to a 43-minute rain delay. The Braves will wait to see how he feels on Wednesday before announcing his return to the rotation.
Tyler Flowers rejoins Braves lineup
Tyler Flowers returned to the Braves’ lineup on Tuesday for the first time since being hit in the hand during Saturday’s game against the Marlins. Braves manager Brian Snitker told the AJC’s Gabe Burns that if he was going to play Flowers in Colorado, he wanted it to be on Monday or Tuesday with bad weather expected on Wednesday.

Police are on the lookout for a suspect who recently broke into Braves outfielder Nick Markakis’ home and stole five guns along with $20,000 in cash. The incident occurred on March 29.

Yankees’ Luis Severino shut down for 6 more weeks
Another MRI exam for Yankees’ ace Luis Severino revealed a Grade 2 lat strain. He will be shut down for six more weeks. Severino was placed on the injured list back in March due to shoulder inflammation. If there is any good news it is that the lat strain is unrelated to the shoulder injury but he may still miss most of the first half of the season as a result.
Chris Archer, Yasiel Puig, and Reds manager David Bell all receive suspensions after brawl
Major League Baseball handed down suspensions to Pirates starter Chris Archer and Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig and manager David Bell for their part in a recent brawl up in Pittsburgh. Chris Archer will receive a five-game ban while Puig will be sidelined for two. David Bell gets one game for his part in the incident. Archer threw behind Cincinnati’s Derek Dietrich after Dietrich had homered off of him in a previous at bat.
Cubs To Place Jon Lester On Injured List
The Chicago Cubs have placed starter Jon Lester on the 10-day injured list due to a hamstring injury. The severity of the injury isn’t known at this time but Lester will miss at least one start.
Indians place Mike Clevinger on injured list with upper back strain
The hits keep coming for the Cleveland Indians who will be without right-hander Mike Clevinger for at least two months due to an upper back strain.
Nationals, Bud Norris Discussing Minor League Deal
The Washington Nationals and right-hander Bud Norris are discussing a minor league deal. Norris is headed to the Nationals’ spring training complex where he will be evaluated physically. If he is ready, then a minor league deal will be completed.
