Braves, Nick Markakis agree on 1-year deal

The Atlanta Braves finally found their outfielder. The team agreed to a one-year deal with Nick Markakis that also contains a club option for the 2020 season. Markakis will make $4 million this season. The 2020 option is worth $6 million and contains a $2 million buyout.

Alex Anthopoulos comments on bringing back Nick Markakis

The Baseball Hall of Fame announced its voting results for the 2019 class on Tuesday. Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, Edgar Martinez and Mike Mussina will join Lee Smith and Harold Baines as members of the 2019 class. Fred McGriff received just over 39 percent of the vote failing to gain induction in his 10th and final year on the ballot. Andruw Jones again saw limited support receiving 7.5 percent of the vote and will remain on the ballot for next season.
